Act locally ❖ Secretions do not travel through blood ❖ Secrete its product (hormones) in to local extracellular environment ❖ Exert effects only on neighbouring cells in vicinity of secreting cells ❖ E.g. enteroendocrine cells of GIT, diffuse neuroendocrine system (DNES)
