How is histology of esophagus?
Autor: H KRespuesta:
• Mucosa: consists of squamous epithelium except for the distal 1–2 cm, which is columnar epithelium. • Submucosa (mucous gland, blood vessels, Meissner neural plexus, extensive lymphatic network). • Muscularis propria: inner circular layer and outer longitudinal layer with septal connective tissue in between (Auerbach plexus). upper 1/3 is striated muscle whereas the lower 2/3 is smooth muscle. • Loose fibroalveolar adventitia (instead of a serosal layer, which is absent in the esophagus).
