Plaque ulceration (Partial destruction of coating, could be central or peripheral (if calcified), erosion to deep ulcer) Hemorrhage and intraplaque hematoma (blood pressure breaches ulceration, or rutpure of intrapalque neovessels) Plaque thrombosis (mural if large, obliterative if small, affect organs downstream, e.g thrombosis obliterans) Arterial dissection (in media, blood enters ulcer) Embolism (cruoric/platelet/atheroma, favored by ulceration) Stenosis (medium sized arteries, progressive ischemia) Aneurysm (can get mural thrombus)
