Pregunta:

What even is, and are, the Properties and Uses for: 1. Fibreglass 2. Concrete 3. KEVLAR based Composites 4. Carbon Fibre Composites

Autor: eric_galvao

Respuesta:

1. Fibreglass has Fibres of Glass that is Embedded in a Polymer Matrix. It has a Low Density [Polymer] but Strong [Glass] so its seen in Skis and Boats 2. Concrete has Aggregate [Mixture of Sand & Gravel] Embedded in Cement. This makes it very Hard to Break so is good for Building. 3. KEVLAR [Man-Made polymer that's Very Strong] is Embedded in Another Material. The Result is that Strength is Added but its still not Heavier - Ideal for Cycling Helmet and Ropes 4. Carbon Fibres Composites use Carbon Fibres or Carbon Nanotubes, which is Embedded in a Polymer Resin Matrix. Very Expensive but Perfect as its Light and Strong [Aeroplanes]
