Adverse effects lithium

Adverse neurologic effects of lithium include tremor, sedation, ataxia, and aphasia. Thyroid enlargement may occur, but hypothyroidism is rare. Reversible nephrogenic diabetes insipidus occurs commonly at therapeutic drug levels. Edema is a common , acneiform skin eruptions occur; and leukocytosis is always present.
