Pregunta:

What is alpha and what is p-value?

Autor: Henriette Bergo

Respuesta:

The alpha level is a cutoff chosen by the researcher (like 5%) that shows the risk of mistakenly rejecting a true null hypothesis. The p-value is calculated from the data and tells us the probability of seeing an effect as strong as the one in our results, assuming the null hypothesis is true. If the p-value is less than the alpha level, we usually reject the null hypothesis.
