➢ Osteochondroma, known clinically as exostosis, is a benign cartilage-capped tumor that is attached to the underlying skeleton by a bony stalk. ➢ This abnormal growth in OC enlarges very slowly and usually stops growing when the epiphyseal plate closes. ➢ In some cases there is multiple lesions : enchondromatosis (Ollier Disease and Maffucci syndrome). ➢ Risk of malignant transformation into chondrosarcoma, specially in the enchondromatosis (rare in osteochondroma). ➢ Microscopy : they are composed of well-circumscribed nodules of hyaline cartilage containing benign chondrocytes
