• Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL) is a neoplasm comprising small B lymphocytes, plasmacytoid lymphocytes and plasma cells, usually involving the bone marrow and sometimes lymph nodes and spleen. • Waldenström Macroglobulinemia (WM) is defined by the combination of LPL in the bone marrow with an IgM monoclonal component in the blood. Plasma cell component secretes monoclonal IgM leading to hyperviscosity syndrome _ Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia • Clinical features – weakness, fatigue, weight loss, – lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly – Anemia, auto-immune hemolysis caused by cold agglutinins hyperviscosity syndrome Seen by IgM monoclonal
