Petechia (tiny hemorrhage of skin, mucus membrane or serous surfaces 1-2 mm diameter (thrombocytopenia, defective platelets, impaired vessel wall function/vit C deficiency) Purpura (hemorrhage slight bleed, 3-4 mm (trauma, vasculitis, increased vascular fragility)) Echymosis (bruises larger subcutaneous hematoma, 1-2 cm, extravasation of RBC phagocytosed by macrophages, color red-blue to blue green to gold brown due to RBC enzymatic activity (Hb, bilirubin, hemosiderin)
