Disposal of Supplies

Syringes and uncapped needles should be discarded according to institutional policy. Never recap a needle. Lay the syringe horizontally and slide the cap onto the needle. Or place the syringe vertically and drop the cap onto the needle. In some institutions supplies are discarded in puncture-resistant, sealable containers often called sharps containers.
