Thin, flexible, sheets of transparent polyurethane with an adhesive backing. Permeable to water vapor, oxygen and carbon dioxide but not to bacteria and water. May be left in place for 5-7 days. Don’t use on patient with frail skin. Keeps wound moist, waterproof, and transparent. Example = tegaderm
