If contraction desired: one electrode should be placed over the motor point for the muscle (usually the middle of the muscle) and the other should be placed on the muscle being stimulated so that the electrodes are aligned parallel to the muscle fibers being stimulated. Electrodes should be at least 2 inches apart.
