Pregunta:
How does Myosin V travel (hand over hand)
Autor: Alex RapaiRespuesta:
Researchers managed to attach a fluorescent probe to only one of the two myosin heads. This revealed that Myosin V moves by taking 72nm steps. Indeed this is almost exactly the distance between the successive helical turns on the actin filament so Myosin V walks down only one side of the actin filament. This is precisely the properties you would expect for a good processive motor.
