Why is worshipping idols forbidden in Islam?

Muslims believe they need to show their belief in there being one God, so they believe only one God should be worshipped. This is why Muhammed and the Qur’an are not worshiped; worshiping idols is haram in Islam because Muslims must never make anything more important than Allah
