- eliminate corn from diet of cattle a few weeks prior to slaughter to reduce shedding - proper hygiene to prevent fecal-oral transmission - proper sanitation of food contact surfaces - cooking/heating foods at appropriate temperatures - proper refrigeration - prevention of cross contamination
