Inspection and palpitation:

Abnormal heart sounds: Caused by abnormal valve function particularly at the mitral valve

Rubs
Abnormal heart sounds: Caused by passage of blood through a narrowed artery. kind of blowing noise heard via stethoscope over the carotid arteries in the neck
