Psoas. From Greek "Psoa" meaning "muscles of the loins". Used for hip flexion and rotation.

The Glutes. These two specifically stabilize the hip and pelvis. Asymmetrical strength, particularly in the medius, can cause hip pain that feels similar to sciatica (this was not in the slides, but relayed to me by a chiropractor)
